Overview
Media always starts with an audience. Audience Design is the intersection of Strategy, Data & Tech applied to drive growth on behalf of our clients and their brands. With the power of Epsilon Identity at the center, we can unleash these capabilities at massive scale at Publicis Groupe. Our team is a mix of researchers, strategists and technology experts and consultants.
The Director, Audience Strategy will support internal agencies and clients by leveraging data and analytics to drive audience strategy, deliver actionable insights, and enhance targeting efforts. This role will require strong analytical skills, data fluency, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in media, creative, content, and/or analytics disciplines. Knowledge of research techniques and segmentation techniques are critical. Candidates should also have applied knowledge of commonly used advertising technology.
Responsibilities
Client Responsibilities:
• Connect a sound audience strategy to client marketing technology and solutions to drive a more efficient and effective approach
• Share knowledge with client and internal teams regarding audience insights and results to impact business needs, translating direction and strategies for all inter-agency teams, including media, creative, experience and CRM,
• Understand how identity technologies work and offer the ability to explain technical concepts in ordinary terms (be technically savvy - understand the opportunities and limitations)
• Partner with internal Activation teams to support media activation for audience targeting
• Has a keen ability to validate growth audience thinking, inlcuding data minding & hypothesis testing
• Ability to ingest client segmentations and partner with Data Architecture team to recreate/build in our internal tools
• Has strong knowledge of internal resources, who to go to to solve problems & can identify needs that may require custom solutions
• Provide thought leadership regarding audience-led capabilities, strategy, and DCO to the industry and senior marketing clients
• Build client and industry presentation materials and present to director, VP, and C-suite level clients with a clear storyline that addresses client business needs

• Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the media services profession
• Strategic thinker, seeing the bigger picture, with ability to analyze everything and think critically when solving problems to come up with unconventional solutions
• Previous leadership and team management
• Ability to build great relationships with clients, vendors, and reps
• Serve as a mentor and thought leader to a team of managers and analysts, and be willing to share knowledge and teach expertise to members of the team within analytics and other cross-functional teams.
• Manages team independently
• Owns client business-related decisions, with input where necessary
Management Responsibilities:
• Accountable for Associate Director, Manager, and Associate level deliverables
• Showcases the ability to manage & mentor others
• Accountable for onboarding and team readiness
• Inspires growth and innovation
Qualifications
+ 8+ years of Digital Media Planning, Buying, and Management experience in progressive levels of responsibility
+ 5+ years managing multiple director reports
+ Familiarity with data visualization using tools such as Tableau, R, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
+ Advanced presentation, storytelling, and project management skills
+ SQL, SAS, or Python a plus
+ Has a mastery of the digital analytics space and has innovated to develop new opportunities.
+ Expert understanding of audience tools (MRI, GWI, Epsilon)
+ Expert understanding of digital marketing, CRM, and audience segmentation
+ Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
+ Client-ready presentation, storytelling, and project management skills
+ Expert understanding of Online Display, Video and Mobile campaigns, as well as knowledge of Ad Tech platforms
+ Strong familiarity/experience with third-party ad serving platforms, DSPs, CDPs, 3rd Party data, pixels and Ad Servers
+ Strong familiarity with customer acquisition goals and optimizing to CPA, CTR, Completion Rate, etc.
+ Deep knowledge of Web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)

Compensation Range: $129,485- $207,324 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
