Medical Records Clerk

Performs clerical/technical duties associated with control and release of Protected Health Information in accordance with regulatory requirements, hospital policy/procedures and federal and state statues.
Responsibilities:
+ Forward appropriate patient information to regulatory and employment agencies within the guidelines of correctly completed medical record releases.
+ Organization of closed medical records.
+ Demonstrate a clear knowledge of HIPPA and patient confidential rules and regulations.
+ File and retrieve medical records
+ File various documents in medical record and other files.
+ Collect data from medical records and records information as required.
+ Assist patients with requests for medical records and completion of authorization forms.
+ Responsible for tracking medical records deficiencies.
+ Collect medical record charts that require coding.
+ Participate in peer review process as required.
+ This is a contigent position generally 20 hours or less per week. May include some weekends.
+ 8am-1pm
+ Experience working with medical records in a previous position
