We are seeking a **_Building Operations Manager,_** **_SNF Agora_** who will be responsible for assisting the Director of Capital Planning and Facilities Management with the overall daily management of the facility and its operational needs, while ensuring a seamless support experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the SNF Agora Building. This role serves as a lead resource on complex matters related to daily building operations, providing prompt responses and resolutions to inquiries and requests, making recommendations, and implementing policies and procedures that support efficient and effective business practices. The position also provides direct financial processing, analysis, and data validation management for the SNF Agora Building. The ability to work a flexible schedule is required, including routinely working early or evening hours, and occasionally working weekend hours as necessary.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
_Building Operations Administration & Management_
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding day-to-day operations in the SNF Agora Building.
+ Collaborate with the Director of Capital Planning and Facilities Management to research and resolve a complex range of student and faculty service matters and provide timely responses.
+ Establish relationships with departmental liaisons within the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) and the JHU community.
+ Conduct daily facility inspections to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.
+ Support the implementation of operating policies and procedures that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of building operations.
+ Facilitate communication across departments to support efficient resource allocation and timely problem resolution.
+ Collaborate closely with the Facilities Manager, and JHPS to review, address, and communicate workplace safety issues, while developing and implementing comprehensive security protocols for the building to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
+ Develop, update, and implement emergency response and evacuation plans; serve as a first responder for critical building issues and medical emergencies, and prepare incident reports as required.
+ Oversee front desk concierge staff and student workers, including hiring, training, scheduling, workflow management, and establishing clear performance expectations and SOPs.
+ Develop and maintain departmental training materials to ensure compliance with university protocols and Agora Building operating standards.
+ Maintain accurate floor plans, internal directories, and building documentation.
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive loading dock operations protocol that includes compliance with safety protocols, delivery scheduling, vendor access, and communication procedures.
+ Develop an internal mail process and delivery system for building occupants and serve as backup for processing incoming and outgoing mail for the building, ensuring proper tracking and distribution.
+ Conduct inventory management for office supplies, coffee, and other operational/instructional supplies.
+ Coordinate building access with the J-Card Office for regular operations, special events, and extended hours.
+ Manage on-site storage and inventory processes, ensuring accurate tracking and organization.
+ Support the KSAS Facilities Manager with coordinating logistical planning for both internal and external faculty and staff relocations.
+ Partner with the KSAS Facilities Project Manager to report, track, and follow up on maintenance and repair issues.
+ Partner with the events manager to support operational needs associated with building events and programs.
+ Serve as the assistant liaison for 25Live scheduling.
+ While based primarily in the SNF Agora Building, provide administrative and operational support to other KSAS facilities as assigned by the Director.
_Financial Support_
+ Perform various financial tasks specific to finance and accounting, budgeting, and reporting to produce accurate information regarding building operations expenses.
+ Process departmental invoices, purchase orders, rental invoices, and internal transfers to ensure correct expenses are charged to the appropriate accounts in university’s accounting system (SAP).
+ Assist with budget projections and reconcile assigned accounts monthly, identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
+ Ensure compliance with university regulations and restrictions.
_Special Projects_
+ Assist leadership with special projects as needed, such as space assessments and utilization, crisis management and safety protocol.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ General knowledge of all Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) academic programs or ability to learn quickly.
+ General knowledge and experience with purchasing and operating budgets.
+ Solid analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft basic correspondence and emails; experience with electronic communications.
+ Ability to balance competing priorities.
+ Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
+ Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and circumstances.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
+ Three years of related experience, including one year of supervisory/management experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $64,688 - $113,360 Annually ($74,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
