This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. American Water is also proud to offer employees learning opportunities and work experiences to grow professionally! *Primary Role* Senior Technologist – Cloud Architecture will develop a well-informed cloud approach and monitor the transition. This individual will examine the cloud apps, hardware and software on a regular basis. They will create and manage cloud-based systems. They will monitor the company cloud privacy in collaboration with IT security. They will respond to technical difficulties in a timely and competent manner. They will translate project specific requirements into a cloud infrastructure that meets the requirements as well as taking into account the project’s resource use and scalability requirements. They will perform activities such as Automated deployment, maintenance, monitoring and management inside cloud framework that has been created. *Key Accountabilities* * Build and test Application infrastructure / AWS EKS cluster / AWS CICD as IaC in accordance with best practices. * Build and maintain networking and security practices and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices. * Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. * As a part of continues improvement, collaborate with product team and get the feedback. Based on the feedback enhance the infrastructure / CICD ( Continues Integration and Continues Deployment). * Write and develop cloud automation playbooks for managing and scaling containers, hosts, cloud services, and applications. * Work on multiple AWS service such as EKS ( Elastic Kebernetes Service ), EC2, Cloudwatch, RDS, S3, Secret Management, Security Groups, EKS serverless Clusters and find out innovative way to improve the performance. * Expertise in AWS Networking such as VPC, subnet, Route table, Direct Connect, and transit gateway configurations. * Expertise in AWS services such as EKS cluster (Elastic Kubernetes Cluster), Cloudformation , AWS CodePipeline, EC2, EFS, RDS, FSX and QuickSight. * Experience with cloud managed services and microservices like Function as a Service, Containers, and managed databases * Infrastructure as code: Automation tooling with Terraform or CloudFormation. * Designing AWS QuickSight dashboard for capturing AWS cost optimization report. * Experience with setting up ALB, Application Cluster with Autoscale, metric dashboard at CloudWatch, and alert based on the event. * Monitor compliance of cloud resources to see if they fit industry guardrails and best practices. * Knowledge/Skills* * Good interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization. * Capable of working under tight deadlines. * Proven track record of successful teamwork and development * Detail oriented * Proactive, persistent, passionate, creative, flexible, and dependable * Strong customer and user experience focus * Experience/Education* * Bachelor’s in Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Systems or related field of Engineering .
