**Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Histology Technician II** for a leading animal health organization in Louisville KY. This role offers an hourly rate of **$25–$36/hr (Based on experience)** and provides an opportunity to support cutting-edge diagnostic services in the animal health field.
Position Overview:
The Histology Technician II performs routine laboratory tests to support the diagnosis and treatment of animal health conditions. Working under minimal supervision, this role involves embedding tissue, cutting and staining samples, operating laboratory equipment, and maintaining accurate records. The technician will collaborate with veterinary pathologists and other lab personnel to ensure high-quality, accurate diagnostic results.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare thin slices of tissue for analysis under minimal supervision
+ Cut various tissue types using microtomes and operate automated tissue stainers
+ Examine, adjust, and process tissue for proper preservation
+ Independently perform tissue embedding for various tissue types
+ Mount tissue samples on slides and stain or dye samples to highlight abnormalities
+ Prepare and troubleshoot special stains and IHC slides
+ Identify factors affecting procedures or quality results and take corrective action
+ Review histology slides for quality and consistency
+ Perform special stains as requested by pathologists
+ Assist with advanced techniques such as molecular pathology or electron microscopy
+ Clean and operate all laboratory equipment within the anatomic pathology lab
+ Perform quality control checks on daily H&E stains
+ Complete other relevant laboratory tasks as required
Education & Experience:
+ Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in histology
+ HT or HTL Certification preferred
+ Proficiency in various staining techniques and laboratory equipment
Technical Skills & Competencies:
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Proficiency with laboratory equipment and software
+ Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
+ Ability to work independently and efficiently
+ Strong organizational and time management abilities
+ Excellent data entry, written, and oral communication skills
+ Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
+ Fluency in English

**Pay Details:** $28.00 to $36.00 per hour
