Description
Position Responsibilities
This role is responsible for overseeing student leadership operations, including Student Government, the Student Union Snack Bar, the Student Welfare Fund, and voting services, while actively facilitating leadership development and life skills training for students.
+ Supervise the Student Government Association (SGA) by maintaining communication with administration, scheduling and supervising meetings, and guiding the development of student leadership and governance skills.
+ Oversee the Student Union Snack Bar, including supervision of student operators and daily operations.
+ Ensure compliance with all state and local health regulations and safety requirements for the snack bar.
+ Coordinate all SGA functions, including administration of the Student Welfare Fund; prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
+ Chaperone student government events and activities to ensure safety and engagement.
+ Coordinate and facilitate voting activities.
+ Maintain accurate student records and data, ensuring all information is current and compliant.
+ Conduct group sessions, orientation activities, and student leadership and life skills training as assigned.
+ Train newly elected officers and deliver advanced leadership training.
+ Provide positive, high-quality customer service to students, staff, and center stakeholders.
+ Support, promote, and enforce Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
+ Promote Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and addressing positive and negative behaviors through effective interventions.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support center operations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency required. Advanced degrees preferred. Post-High School leadership, or related, training courses preferred. Previous Job Corps or related program experience required. Must have strong facilitation skills to deliver training programs to students. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.
