    Engineering ManagerJob Description

     

    We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team in the design and development of advanced composite products, including Type III and Type IV pressure vessels, tubulars, and composite structures. This role requires a hands-on leader who can foster a culture of continuous improvement, drive data-driven decision-making, and ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills to manage projects, budgets, and resources while supporting business development initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop team capabilities and promote continuous improvement through training and resource allocation.

    + Manage employee performance via regular informal communication and formal monthly reviews.

    + Take a hands-on approach to training and development to ensure team success.

    + Foster collaboration and teamwork across departments.

    + Oversee departmental budgets, resource allocation, and provide engineering support to other business areas.

    + Implement and maintain project management procedures, including budgets, schedules, risk management, and compliance.

    + Establish configuration control processes for engineering drawings and documentation.

    + Lead regular project design reviews and provide technical feedback on system designs.

    + Deliver status updates to srleadership at both site and corporate levels.

    + Drive data-driven decision-making using Design for Six Sigma principles.

    + Support business development activities, including estimates, technical reviews, and quotations

    + Proficient in MS Office and MS Project (or similar scheduling software)

    + Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (ABAQUS preferred)

    + Strong composites design and fabrication exposure with emphasis on filament winding

    + Six Sigma, Lean, and/or Kaizen experience is a plus

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited university in an engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).

    + Previous managerial experience preferred.

    + Must be a U.S., lawful permanent resident, or otherwise eligible to work in the United States.

    + Ability to delegate resources and meet challenging schedules.

    + ERP-based environment experience.

    + Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial processes.

    + Ability to analyze technical data and make appropriate recommendations.

    + Ability to use independent judgment within established guidelines and written directions.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Westminster, Maryland 21157.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
