    Job Title: Pharmacist

    Job Description

    This role encompasses the primary duties of a Staff Pharmacist and a Compliance Manager. You will support and lead the Compliance Department in developing, implementing, and maintaining the pharmacy's compliance program, policies, and procedures. Your role will be integral in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and promoting continuous improvement in our long-term care pharmacy operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct routine compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.

    + Conduct quarterly Accountability Audits for the Control Room.

    + Monitor and track regulatory changes affecting long-term care pharmacy operations, updating policies and procedures accordingly.

    + Prepare and deliver compliance training programs to pharmacy staff.

    + Coordinate with pharmacy staff and management to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions.

    + Maintain records of compliance activities, including training records, audit findings, incident investigations, and corrective actions.

    + Prepare reports on compliance activities and findings for senior management.

    + Serve as a resource to staff regarding compliance-related questions and issues.

    + Support the Compliance Department and senior management in responding to regulatory inquiries, inspections, and audits.

    + Manage the pharmacy's medication destruction program in compliance with EPA and DSCSA regulations.

    Essential Skills

    + Pharmacist with 5-7 years of experience and a PharmD.

    + Licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the state of Indiana.

    + 2 years of experience in a leadership role.

    + Experience with conducting audits, investigations, and implementing corrective actions.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in long-term care and retail pharmacy.

    + Knowledge of quality assurance and compliance processes.

    + Familiarity with large-scale audits.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a typical workload of 40-45 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is available, making it ideal for those with retail experience seeking a better work-life balance. The role involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, primarily standing throughout the day. The pharmacy operates as a closed-door facility, eliminating patient or insurance provider interactions. There is potential for rotating shifts and weekend work, though this is infrequent. The facility is a manufacturing/fulfillment site, with the role specifically located in the 'cage' where controlled drugs are managed.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
