Manager of Data Engineering
Job Description
The Manager of Data Engineering is responsible for leading a team focused on data warehousing and maintaining legacy integrations and data applications. This role involves developing and implementing data engineering solutions to enhance data warehousing capabilities and ensure the smooth operation of legacy systems.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the development and maintenance of data warehousing solutions, managing legacy integrations and enhancements.
+ Utilize experience with SaaS-based solutions, Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, dbt, Matillion, and other ELT/ETL tools.
+ Direct and mentor a team of data developers and engineers, ensuring alignment with project goals and company objectives.
+ Make architecture decisions and manage relationships with vendor partners.
+ Collaborate with Product Owners and DevOps to prioritize activities and manage delivery through Agile methodologies.
+ Provide transparency through reporting on backlog, data quality metrics, and platform health.
+ Manage the execution of data engineering projects, ensuring they meet defined objectives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
+ Provide technical expertise in data warehousing technologies and legacy systems, staying updated on industry trends.
+ Engage with stakeholders, including the upper management, to align data engineering efforts with business needs and communicate project progress.
+ Ensure adherence to best practices in data governance and security, maintaining high standards of quality.
+ Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of experience in data engineering and management.
+ 2+ years in management
+ Proven experience in people management.
+ Strong project management skills.
+ Proficiency in Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and APIs.
+ Experience with Matillion and AWS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Matillion is a plus.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote in the Miami office. The role involves managing a team of 13 people, including offshore and nearshore team members.

This is a Permanent position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
