    Job Title: Environmental Project ManagerJob Description

     

    We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager with over 7 years of experience to enhance our environmental site investigation, due diligence, remediation, and compliance practice in the Metro Detroit office. The ideal candidate is a seasoned environmental consulting professional eager to foster technical excellence and nurture strong client relationships. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will work with a team of dedicated professionals providing high-level expertise on complex projects. You will have the opportunity to execute all project aspects under the guidance of a company Principal and represent the firm with clients throughout proposal, contract, and project performance phases. Additionally, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of technical and financial aspects of each project, engage in marketing activities, attend networking events, and mentor junior staff. Our Project Managers have ownership opportunities, participate in profit sharing, and have potential for advancement to principal levels.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage project teams, delegate tasks to office and field staff, and execute daily project activities.

    + Oversee project contractual and financial issues, including terms of agreement, changes in scope, and billing processes.

    + Mentor existing staff of project-level scientists and engineers.

    + Monitor team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets.

    + Conduct site compliance inspections.

    + Prepare proposals and review/write environmental reports with Principal guidance.

    + Conduct and review technical analyses and calculations.

    + Participate in meetings and agency consultations.

    + Conduct internal and client communications.

    + Provide business development support.

    + Assist on projects and tasks outside of primary responsibilities as needed.

    + Travel up to 40%, including local, regional, and rare national trips.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in remediation, site assessment, project management, and environmental science.

    + Proficiency in environmental site assessments (ESA), site investigations, and environmental compliance.

    + Knowledge of GIS and database management is a plus.

    + Strong oral and written communication skills.

    + Experience preparing technically knowledgeable reports.

    + Possession or completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.

    + Preferred professional registration such as PE, PG, or LSRP.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geological/Hydrogeology, or Environmental Sciences (advanced degree is a plus).

    + 7 plus years of project experience in environmental site assessment, site investigation, and soil and groundwater remediation.

    + Experience at consulting engineering firms and knowledge of applicable Federal and Michigan laws and regulations (experience in adjacent states is a plus).

    + Strong understanding of field sampling and investigative protocols.

    + Strong knowledge of contaminants' fate and transport in subsurface and experience in conceptual site model development.

    + Experience with statistical review of data.

    + Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

    + Ability to maintain strong and consistent client outreach.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
