    As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating 3D piping and equipment models, as well as drafting, designing, and detailing various projects in coordination with engineers. You will perform regular and recurring design/drafting tasks independently, following established standards and best practices. Your work will include preparing detailed drawings of mechanical layouts, plans, equipment, and piping based on specifications provided by engineering teams and clients.

    Responsibilities

    + Complete assigned tasks within established timelines.

    + Apply standard detailing and fabrication practices; read and interpret design documents and drawings.

    + Revise drawings as directed by project stakeholders or engineers.

    + Convert sketches into finished designs and check simple mechanical piping and equipment layouts with minimal supervision.

    + Understand basic piping system engineering and produce clear, accurate drawings and bills of material for fabrication, including all necessary contractor information.

    + Perform solid modeling of plant assemblies and piping systems, including vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and related equipment using CAD software.

    + Create, modify, organize, and optimize large and complex assemblies using AutoCAD.

    + Develop bid drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.

    + Read, interpret, and create blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process flow diagrams (PFDs).

    + Adhere to established drafting standards.

    + Verify plant layouts through site visits and walk-downs of P&IDs.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in CADWorx, Plant 3D, AutoCAD.

    + Mechanical design and drafting skills.

    + Engineering degree.

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience.

    + Familiarity with 3D piping design.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to read and interpret design documents and drawings.

    + Skill in converting sketches into finished designs.

    + Understanding of basic piping system engineering.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
