Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Controls Engineer with 1-2 years of experience. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting and making quick modifications to ensure continuous line operation. The position involves adding scanners, cameras, and vision systems but does not require programming from scratch.

Responsibilities

+ Troubleshoot and make quick modifications to maintain continuous production line operations.

+ Integrate and add scanners, cameras, and vision systems.

+ Work with PLCs, HMIs, and logic systems to resolve issues.

+ Collaborate with other controls engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.

Essential Skills

+ 1-2 years of experience as a Controls Engineer or in a related role.

+ Proficiency in PLC programming, specifically Allen-Bradley PLCs.

+ Experience with Robotic programming and automation systems.

+ Knowledge of JIT, ILVS, and batch manufacturing systems.

+ Familiarity with automotive component systems including Body, Trim, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, and Electrical Systems.

+ Experience in manual and automated assembly systems, both mechanical and control systems.

+ Understanding of Industrial Safety Standards.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD, RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, RS View, and Microsoft Office applications.

+ Experience in HMI programming with AB PanelView and PanelView Plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, Robotics, Computer Programming, or a related field.

Work Environment

The position is based in a typical automotive plant, which is fast-paced, located on the floor, and can be stressful with tight deadlines. The facility is a union environment, although it maintains a laid-back atmosphere. You will work alongside other controls engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff. The dress code is typical automotive attire, such as jeans/slacks with a polo or button-down shirt. The shift options are B Shift from 5:30 pm to 4 am, Tuesday to Friday, and Day Shift from 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

As a Piston employee, they will be compensated OT over 45 hours at REGULAR rate. They also receive: Annual Bonus Target: 5% Annual Merit Increase: 3% Vacation: 3 Week (Prorate for 2025) Monthly Cell Phone Allowance: $50
