We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Technician to perform both standard and non-standard testing on current and experimental products. The ideal candidate will actively participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives, assist with equipment calibration, and maintain accurate test records while ensuring effective communication with internal customers and team members.
Responsibilities
+ Participate in the development of new technology, new products, or modifications to existing products to meet technical requirements within time and cost constraints.
+ Consult with the test requestor to determine appropriate testing methods and understand desired outcomes for standard or non-standard products.
+ Set up and conduct performance tests using established standardized formats and procedures to identify performance ratings.
+ Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet testing requirements.
+ Prepare accurate test data for interpretation and analysis.
+ Identify test equipment issues and communicate a resolution plan to other technicians and/or supervisors.
+ Assist with equipment calibration and perform complex test bench maintenance under supervision.
+ Operate and maintain lab equipment to ensure testing accuracy and efficiency.
+ Keep the lab manager informed of testing activity and challenges on an ongoing basis.
+ Perform operational lab duties as apparent or as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Previous experience as a technician or in a related field is preferred.
+ Working knowledge of test equipment and test standards.
+ Proficient computer literacy skills (MS Office).
+ Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude.
+ Ability to understand cause and effect relationships within automated control systems.
+ Fundamental understanding of measurement & control systems and calibration practices.
+ Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from supervisors and team members.
+ Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness of data, reports, and records.
+ Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
+ Ability to recognize the importance of common goals and work with others to achieve them.
+ Professional conduct at all times.
Work Environment
Work in a dynamic Engineering R&D lab environment with 1st Shift hours from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm. The dress code is engineering business casual, requiring a collared shirt, and safety shoes as PPE.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
