    Job Title: Systems Architect

    Job Description

    As a Systems Architect, you will be responsible for architecting integrated communications systems using RF, SATCOM, and IP-based technologies, with a strong emphasis on 5G waveforms, DSSS, Frequency Hopping, and more. You will lead and mentor a team of DSP and embedded software engineers to deliver robust, real-time communications solutions. You will also adapt and extend the 5G OpenAirInterface stack to meet military LPI/LPD requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Architect integrated communications systems focusing on 5G waveforms, DSSS, and Frequency Hopping.

    + Mentor and lead a team of DSP and embedded software engineers.

    + Develop and validate system-level approaches for integrating DSSS and Frequency Hopping into 5G-based tactical communications.

    + Conduct link budgets, interference analysis, and RF propagation assessments.

    + Support integration and testing of communication systems in lab and field settings.

    + Interface with hardware and software teams to enhance system-level performance.

    + Author technical documentation, system specifications, and SBIR deliverables.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + BS Degree in STEM Field (Masters or PhD preferred)

    + 10+ years of 5G Waveform Systems Architecture experience

    + US Citizenship required

    + Experience supporting DoD/DoW programs is preferred

    + Proficient in C-Based Programming

    Work Environment

    This role offers the flexibility to be fully remote or hybrid, depending on your location. You will support a Military 5G Waveform program for Space Force under a SBIR award funded for 24 months. The team includes two SrDSP Engineers who are also fully remote. Enjoy full benefits, including 2-4 weeks of vacation time and 11 paid holidays.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $86.00 - $106.00/hr.
