Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description
Join a pioneering team focused on developing autonomous systems for ground-based movement, aimed at protecting front-line soldiers and supporting civilian workers in industrial settings. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing driverless technology and providing innovative solutions for critical conditions.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop concepts of operation, use cases, system architectures, and system requirements.
+ Ensure traceability of requirements across architectures, analyses, and verification plans throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Lead the development of system architectures and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
+ Support the program team with preparation and coordination of activities for technical gate reviews such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR).
+ Participate in system-level trade studies and analyses.
+ Collect metrics and communicate with program stakeholders and management, identifying technical and programmatic risks.
+ Deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders to communicate proposed concepts, solutions, and analysis results effectively.
+ Participate in and support verification and validation activities of autonomous vehicles.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, Robotics or related area with 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s Degree with 7+ years of experience.
+ Proven systems engineering skills through education or experience, including requirements definition/allocation/traceability, interface definition, verification, and validation.
+ Ability to understand, define, and develop system specifications, architectures, and interfaces.
+ Hands-on experience with verification and validation activities.
+ Knowledge of product development through traditional waterfall and agile practices.
+ Familiarity with Autonomous Vehicles, sensors, and embedded systems.
+ Experience in developing safety-critical systems through the product lifecycle.
+ Proficiency with Requirement Management Tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience developing architectures in a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.
+ Knowledge of Autonomous Vehicles behavior definition and decomposition into functional and performance requirements.
+ Working knowledge of key algorithms in robotics disciplines such as navigation, localization, perception, and planning.
+ Experience with safety standards in regulated industries, including automotive, military, aerospace, or medical.
+ Familiarity with cybersecurity principles.
+ Knowledge of Machinery Standards.
Work Environment
This role is within a heavy engineering and test environment with approximately 250-300 employees. The work setting emphasizes collaboration across various engineering disciplines to drive innovation and ensure the development of cutting-edge autonomous systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Clarksburg, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $175000.00/yr.
