Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the structural components department, supporting the development of large engine products. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and modeling various components that are cast or fabricated. Design and 3D modeling will be conducted using CREO, Teamcenter for PLM, and Excel for various functions. You will work collaboratively in a team environment alongside 10 other design engineers and liaise with manufacturing to ensure smooth design-to-production transitions.
Responsibilities
+ Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
+ Investigate customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility of projects.
+ Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.
+ Research and analyze the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET).
+ 3D modeling experience, particularly with products that are machined or cast. Proficiency in CREO is highly preferred.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating creativity and critical thinking.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other MS Office products like PowerPoint.
+ Experience with mechanical design, particularly in castings or fabrication design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in engine component design.
+ Previous experience with the organization.
+ A strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
+ Familiarity with computer applications and software related to the engineering field.
Work Environment
This position requires you to work onsite five days a week, primarily at a desk in a cubicle environment alongside other team members. The team is a close-knit group that values collaboration and provides valuable training and development opportunities. You will have the chance to work with advanced technology such as 3D printing and the latest CAD design tools.

This is a Contract position based out of LAFAYETTE, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
