    As a Phlebotomist, you will demonstrate proficiency in blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and challenging draws in medical office buildings. You will maintain a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety protocols, effectively communicating their importance to fellow employees. Additionally, you will possess the skills necessary to provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. All interactions with minors will be supervised by a supervisor or RN.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques.

    + Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws.

    + Ensure compliance with safety protocols and communicate their importance.

    + Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.

    + Supervise all interactions with minors under the guidance of a supervisor or RN.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in venipuncture, neonatal and general phlebotomy.

    + Experience as a Lab Assistant and knowledge of specimen processing.

    + Familiarity with the Cerner lab system.

    + Possession of a CPT 1 License.

    + Strong computer skills and customer service experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma.

    + Availability for an on-call schedule, typically averaging 32 hours per week, with a range of 24 - 40 hours.

    The work environment includes outpatient clinics located in Coachella Valley, covering areas such as Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Indio, CA.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palm Desert, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
