Job Title: NDE - Project Engineer
Job Description
This role involves providing technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team, facilitating the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyzing NDE data, and managing inspector assignments and progress. The position coordinates inspection assignments and ensures timely progress, while also handling vendor communications and verifying delivery requirements. The R&D Lab aims to create a universal inspection method for Aerospace parts across the industry using non-destructive evaluation techniques such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Borescope.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical and inventory support to NDE Managers, Engineers, or Scientists for commercial and military engines.
+ Prepare parts for fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.
+ Coordinate inspection assignments and track inspector results.
+ Request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to meet schedule requirements, and verify delivery requirements are met.
+ Support training and auditing of NDT systems and establish NDT and quality systems.
+ Communicate effectively with all levels of management and internal and external customers.
+ Utilize root cause and process control tools.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent.
+ 5+ years of industry experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
+ Proficiency in Excel and SAP.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Experience with training and auditing NDT systems.
+ Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
+ Experience in measurement/instrumentation, design, and report writing.
+ Ability to work independently and in production and overhaul environments.
+ Experience supporting cross-functional groups.
+ Background in establishing NDT methods.
Work Environment
The position is full-time onsite at the East Hartford campus, within a dynamic group that frequently changes priorities. The environment is structured and process-driven, and there is an opportunity to transition to a permanent role. Employees enjoy five days of PTO per year, six paid holidays, and overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 40 per week. The role offers a rewarding experience by contributing to flight safety and innovative advancements in the Aerospace industry.

This is a Contract position based out of East Hartford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
