Job Title: Wastewater Process Engineer

Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 + Benefits

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

About the Role

Are you ready to take on a technical leadership position that bridges the gap between senior management and junior engineering staff? This mid-level role combines process engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, offering a clear path to senior leadership for those who want to grow their career.

You’ll work on complex wastewater and industrial projects (75% wastewater, 25% industrial), mentor junior engineers, and lead select projects independently—all while applying your technical skills in Civil 3D, process design, and QA/QC oversight.

What You’ll Do

+ Design & Technical Leadership:

+ Apply process and civil engineering principles to wastewater treatment and industrial utility projects.

+ Prepare layout plans, specifications, and ensure QA/QC compliance.

+ Support permitting and regulatory requirements.

+ Mentorship & Management:

+ Manage and mentor 1–3 junior staff members.

+ Act as a middle manager between senior leadership and project teams.

+ Project Delivery:

+ Lead select projects independently, reporting to senior management.

+ Conduct site visits a couple of times per month (mostly Southern California).

What We’re Looking For

+ Technical Skills:

+ Strong background in process engineering and civil design.

+ Proficiency in Civil 3D and familiarity with P&ID software.

+ Ability to support CAD tasks and ensure technical accuracy.

+ Experience:

+ Typically 3–7 years in process/civil engineering roles.

+ PE license preferred (or on track to obtain).

+ Attributes for Success:

+ Effective communicator and mentor.

+ Interest in business development for future growth (not required, but a plus).

+ Comfortable with occasional fieldwork and short travel.

Nice-to-Have Skills

+ BIM interaction experience.

+ Hydraulic modeling knowledge.

+ Regulatory permitting expertise.

+ Industrial project experience (laundries, food plants, etc.).

This is a Permanent position based out of Orange, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
