Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves managing both front and back office responsibilities, ensuring efficient triage of patients, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will play a crucial role in patient care, assisting with procedures, and providing support to our healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
+ Triage patients and manage front and back office responsibilities.
+ Room patients and ensure rooms are stocked and cleaned between visits.
+ Collect patient vitals using an automatic blood pressure cuff.
+ Utilize EMR systems, specifically Health Fusion, for documentation and updates.
+ Input imaging requests and print scripts and orders for the doctor.
+ Ask HPI-related questions to assess pain and document responses accurately.
+ Communicate patient HPI answers to providers and update them as needed.
+ Scribe for doctors when required.
+ Collect patient consent for treatments and procedures.
+ Answer incoming calls and voicemails from patients, taking appropriate action.
+ Review blood work prior to scheduled patient appointments.
+ Assist in procedures by obtaining consent, preparing carts, and sterilizing instruments.
+ Collaborate with all providers in the practice.
+ Prepare patient charts ahead of appointments, ensuring necessary documentation and imaging are complete.
+ Collect urine specimens, manage narcotic agreements and screeners, and track related paperwork.
+ Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take notes, and maintain interest in anatomy.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in medical assisting, particularly in back office roles.
+ Proficiency in patient care and electronic health record systems.
+ Strong understanding of medical terminology.
+ Experience in pain management or strong in orthopedics and spine.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Interest in hands-on medical assisting roles and pain management.
+ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials are advantageous.
Work Environment
The office operates from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Flexibility to start as early as 7:45 AM or later in the day is available. A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is provided. This is a hands-on position offering ample learning opportunities about procedures for pain management and anatomy. The environment is supportive, especially for those considering further education in medical or physician assistant school.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Millburn, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
