Job Description
We are looking for a Fixture Design Engineer to help progress product development in our Manufacturing Team. Individuals must be experienced enough with Weld Fixture and Tooling Design to help create complex mechanisms that could have 50+ parts. This person must also be a problem solver and able to take a project from concept to completion while working multiple projects at a time.
Responsibilities Include
+ Design and/or modify weld fixtures and equipment used for production parts and assemblies.
+ Create tooling and fixtures that produce products meeting specifications, are durable in the welding environment, and cost-effective.
+ Validate fixtures for accuracy, repeatability, and function.
+ Develop and maintain detailed part, assembly, and print models to communicate the manufacture, assembly, and use of tooling and fixtures.
+ Oversee multiple projects through all phases from design to validation.
+ Collaborate with product engineers and operations to optimize designs for manufacturing quality and cost.
+ Work with machinists, fixture builders, and vendor machine shops.
+ Apply engineering analysis to ensure designs possess sufficient strength and stiffness for intended functions.
+ Develop standards of work for engineering to improve design efficiency and reduce validation time.
+ Hands on interaction with production parts, tooling and hand tools.
Must Have
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology or equivalent
+ 5+ years experience fixture design
+ Experience designing weld fixtures and/or weldments
+ Robot weld experience (Fanuc preferred)
Work Environment
The role consists of 60% design, 25% problem-solving, and 15% project management. The work environment emphasizes creating products correctly the first time to save time and resources.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mentor, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $52.88/hr.
