Job Title: Application EngineerJob Description
We are seeking an Application Engineer to engage with Sales and Business Unit teams, providing both pre-sale and post-sales technical support for our product lines, with a primary focus on Power Distribution, Power Generation, and Motion Control, including relevant new technologies. The role involves supporting New Product Development from the design phase through to mass production, developing application expertise in target markets, and understanding customer requirements to participate in new product definition.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical training on new products and technologies to customers and sales personnel.
+ Serve as a technical liaison between the customer, product managers, and manufacturing teams, learning new technologies to support technical requirements.
+ Become a subject matter expert in Power Distribution, Power Generation, and Motor Control products.
+ Develop and maintain product documentation such as data briefs, data sheets, white papers, and application notes.
+ Answer technical questions in a timely manner and resolve technical objections.
+ Systematically funnel customer data to business unit teams and marketing for product development inclusion.
+ Evaluate technical aspects of competitors' products and develop strategies to address competitive issues.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
+ Knowledge of basic electrical theory, including Ohm's Law
+ Understanding of circuits, resistors, capacitors, and MOSFETs
+ Troubleshooting skills over the phone and in person
+ Experience in application and product engineering
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Internship or co-op experience working with electronic products
Work Environment
This position is within a full hands-on design engineering and manufacturing company. The primary environment is office/cubicle based, within the Engineering team. However, candidates will also have exposure to manufacturing, seeing products both made and tested. The team is currently expanding, creating the need for this position. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bohemia, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $36.00/hr.
