Entry Level Engineer

Actively seeking a entry level engineer to support various activities related to the design and construction of electrical overhead and underground distribution systems. This position operates under the supervision of a technical lead and primarily handles projects ranging from 4kV to 138kV. These projects are mostly associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports.
Responsibilities
+ Develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems.
+ Comply with safety requirements and design and quality expectations.
+ Travel to sites for inspections and return to the office for engineering design work.
+ Perform engineering calculations like structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying calculations.
+ Specify conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans.
+ Calculate voltage drop and flicker.
+ Develop permitting documents for different Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
+ Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews.
+ Conduct root cause analysis of outages and implement mitigation strategies using engineering principles.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
+ 0-1 years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and Maximo.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $29.81/hr.
