Job Description
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to provide technical and administrative support to our NDE engineering team. This role involves facilitating the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyzing NDE data, and tracking inspector assignments and progress. The technician will coordinate inspection assignments and ensure the timely progress of inspector results. Additionally, the role requires requesting quotes from vendors, monitoring progress according to schedule requirements, and verifying that requirements are met upon delivery.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical and inventory support under the direction of NDE Engineers for commercial and military engines.
+ Coordinate inspection assignments and track the progress of inspector results.
+ Prepare parts for FPI, clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.
+ Request quotes from vendors and verify that schedule and delivery requirements are met.
+ Perform and perfect non-destructive evaluations like Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Borescope techniques.
Essential Skills
+ Associate Degree or 1+ year of experience as a Technician in a manufacturing setting.
+ Lab experience in school or internships.
+ Proficient in Excel and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Experience with training and auditing NDT systems.
+ Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.
+ Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of management and customers.
+ Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in establishing NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods.
+ Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools.
+ 1+ year experience as a Production Technician or Machinist.
+ FPI - Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Eddy Current Testing, Ultrasonic Testing.
+ Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
+ Interpersonal skills and ability to work well in production and overhaul environments.
Work Environment
This position requires full-time onsite work at the East Hartford campus. The work environment is dynamic, with constantly changing priorities. The team is dedicated to fixing flight safety problems and driving cutting-edge advances in the Aerospace industry. The company offers structured, process-driven operations, and there is potential for permanent employment with excellent benefits. During the contract period, employees receive 5 days of PTO per year, 6 paid holidays, and overtime pay at 1.5X for hours worked over 40 per week. Additionally, employees can collect unemployment for one week at the end of the year/holiday closure and one week at the 4th of July closure.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
