• Tool Designer

    Nelson Global Products (Indianapolis, IN)


    + Design and develop tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support fabrication, welding, assembly, and machining operations.

    + Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.

    + Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams to identify tooling needs and develop practical solutions.

    + Review and improve existing tooling designs for performance, durability, and ease of use.

    + Specify materials, components, and processes for tooling fabrication.

    + Coordinate with suppliers and internal fabrication teams to ensure timely and cost-effective tooling builds.

    + Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing tooling layouts and ergonomics.

    + Maintain documentation and revision control for all tooling designs and related specifications.

    + Troubleshoot performance issues and provide on-floor support during implementation.

    + Ensure all designs comply with company safety standards and industry best practices.
