Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position:
The QC Inspector Technician is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished products meet the required quality standards and specifications as defined by the Quality Management System (QMS). This position plays a critical role in upholding Dexter's commitment to delivering high-quality products by conducting thorough inspections and collaborating to address quality concerns.

An employee in this position will perform tasks directly related to:
• Lead the inspection of products and components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators to perform detailed inspections.
• Operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including proficiency with MCOSMOS and/or CALYPSO software, ensuring accurate measurements and reports.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), applying advanced understanding to evaluate product conformance.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant quality management systems.
• Perform first article inspections, non-conformance reporting, and in-process audits, driving continuous improvement in quality processes.
• Provide mentorship and training to entry level inspectors, ensuring alignment with quality standards and best practices.
• Enforce detailed documentation procedures to ensure inspection results and reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
• Develop programs for visons systems and CMM's with fixturing and setup photos with approval of the lead technician.
• Maintain calibration records of reference checks on all critical automated equipment in conjunction with the Calibration technician
• Maintain measurement systems analysis with Quality engineering and lead technician
• Maintain the program matrix for all automated equipment with lead technician
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain, to resolve quality issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Act as a subject matter expert for AS9102 and Net-Inspect FAI reporting, driving the implementation and best practices in inspection documentation.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment while practicing 5S methodologies.
• Supporting other QC Inspectors with basic inspection tasks as needed and assigned.
• Performing additional duties as assigned to support quality initiatives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in quality, manufacturing, or engineering is highly preferred.
• ASQ Certification (CQI, CQT, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead inspector role.
• Expert knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments and advanced inspection tools.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and proficiency with MCOSMOS and/or CALYPSO software.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Strong familiarity with industry standards and quality management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and others.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Epicor is a strong advantage.
• In-depth experience with first article inspections, non-conformance reporting, and in-process auditing.
• Expertise with AS9102 and Net-Inspect software is a significant plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead teams, with strong mentoring and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-departmental communication abilities to effectively engage with teams in Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain.
Hourly Rate: $31.50-$34 depending on experience
