The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.
The Louisiana Secretary of State is seeking an advanced-level professional to serve as a Budget Analyst 4 . This role involves specialized budget preparation, review, and monitoring activities. Work will be performed independently, governed by state and federal regulations, and by oral and/or written directives from the Accountant Administrator 3 an/or the Budget Administrator 1.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

+ Managing Budgets:The ability to plan, monitor, and adjust budgets to meet goals, ensure compliance, and promote financial transparency.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or statistics plus two years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
