Dredge Deckhands are responsible for assisting the crew as needed, performing daily checks, housekeeping and appearance of the vessel, securing deck lines, and a variety of other related duties.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Performs deckhand and laborer duties aboard dredge and support vessels, including line handling, anchoring operations, loading and unloading materials, assisting with pipeline, anchor, and equipment handling, and supporting dredge movement and positioning.
+ Conducts routine maintenance and minor repairs on dredge and ancillary vessels, including cleaning, painting, lubrication, equipment upkeep, and assisting with deck and mechanical repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
+ Supports safety, loss prevention, and emergency response efforts by complying with Port safety programs, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions, participating in safety inspections and JSAs, and serving as an essential employee available to respond during emergencies and natural disasters.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Dredge Deckhand.
Compensation:This position is eligible for premium pay of up to $1.50 per hour for each hour actually worked.
Work Schedule:This position currently consists of working a forty (40) hour work week with overtime as necessary. This isnota live on dredge. All employees return home each day.
