Tax Compliance Accountant – Roanoke, TX (Onsite)
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Some Saturdays may be required)
**Compensation:** $30–$33/hr, based on experience
**Employment Type:** Temporary-to-Perm (Conversion expected after ~3 months of training)
We are seeking a detail-oriented **Tax Compliance Accountant** to join our client’s growing team in **Roanoke, TX** . This is an onsite role that will begin on a temporary basis, with the intent to convert to a permanent position after successful completion of training.
Responsibilities
+ Complete monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual state sales, excise, direct shipment, and wholesale tax reports in accordance with state filing deadlines.
+ Work closely with leadership and clients to identify and resolve tax compliance issues before reports are filed.
+ Manually convert client invoices and prepare wholesale tax reports for clients without a ShipCompliant Wholesale module subscription.
+ Perform administrative duties related to tax reports and label registrations (alphabetizing, sorting, scanning, filing, uploading documents to Google Drive).
Qualifications
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field **OR** 2+ years of experience processing sales and excise tax returns.
+ Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of deadline-driven tasks.
+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments independently.
+ Proficient in 10-key typing.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
+ Desire to grow within a small firm, expanding from tax preparation into other areas of the compliance business.
**Pay Details:** $30.00 per hour
