A Day in the Life:
The Director Software Engineering role is a combination of hands-on iterative software development and coaching people – to be successful, we are looking for someone that enjoys both to support building great software that is valuable and that people love to use. You will be hands on, write code and actively coach Full Stack Developers and Software Engineers on your team(s). You will also be empowered to work with your peers and other senior leaders to continuously improve the culture, architecture patterns, operating environments, tools and pipelines at Hertz.
What You’ll Do:
+ Lead a team of engineers to build applications that enable seamless digital experiences for our customers
+ Mentor engineers and work with them on their career paths
What We’re Looking For:
+ 7-10 years relevant experience engineering principles, architecture, and software engineering
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred
+ Experience owning the end-to-end engineering execution for a critical business function that supports a broader business segment
+ Adept in conflict management and problem resolution skills in managing internal and external customer relationships
+ Able to drive progress in an entrepreneurial manner, moving quickly and taking calculated risks when deemed appropriate
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What You’ll Get:
The starting salary for this role is $190,000 annually, commensurate of experience.
• Bonus: Eligible, Up to 15%
• Stock: Eligible, yes
• Stock Options: Eligible, 80% vested for 3 years
• Bonus Plans: Eligible, 15%
• Reimbursement for Travel Expenses (as applicable, per Company policy guidelines)
