    About the role

     

    Our team is growing! HealthFitness is hiring a **full-time Lifeguard (40 hours/week)** at our client site in **Anna** **,** **Ohio** - approximately 25 miles South of Lima.     Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.

     

    **Full-time:** 40 hours/week

    **Facility Hours:** M-F 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM with occasional Saturday rotation approximately 1x/month

    Key Accountabilities

    + Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.

    + Enforce and explain rules as necessary.

    + Respond appropriately to any emergency.

    + Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.

    + Attend all required staff meetings and training.

    + Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.

    + Maintain a professional attitude.

    + Other duties as needed/assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Must be at least 16 years old.

    + American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification. **_*Site may be able to provide Red Cross Lifeguard certification training at discounted rate._**

    + Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.

    + Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.

    + Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

    + Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

    All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:

    + 500 yard swim.

    + Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.

    + Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.

    + Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

    Compensation: $14-$17/Hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
