Summary
The Automation Technician maintains and troubleshoots automated production equipment to support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and automated equipment
• Support production by quickly resolving automation-related downtime
• Perform preventive maintenance on control systems
• Assist with equipment upgrades and process improvements
• Follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures
Qualifications:
• Technical degree or equivalent automation experience
• Experience with PLCs and industrial electrical systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
• Demonstrates required skills; adapts to new technologies; troubleshoots technological problems; uses technology to increase productivity; keeps technical skills up to date.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and customers.
• Ability to plan work on a daily schedule, work independently and be a highly motivated individual.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and apply those concepts to practical situations.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Word Processing software.
