  • Senior Business Planner, Copilot Modernization

    Microsoft Corporation (Redmond, WA)

    Apply Now

    Overview

Copilot is redefining personal productivity and consumer value. We need a senior business planner to translate product/usage signals into pricing, packaging, channel, and lifecycle strategies that grow users, ARPU, and LTV across endpoints (web, mobile, Windows) and surfaces for upsell into premium Copilot value. You’ll be at the center of key consumer motions — setting the strategy, running the model, shipping the plan, and landing it with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Commerce.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.

    Responsibilities

+ Monetization strategy & business model design. Own hypotheses, options, and recommendations for Copilot consumer monetization (freemium limits, trials, add ons, bundles, and cross product offers). Deliver clear trade off narratives and PR/FAQ style one pagers for executive decisions.

+ Pricing & packaging. Define constructs, fences, value ladders, and thresholds that align with willingness to pay and cost to serve; partner with Finance on P&L sensitivities and with Product on value delivery and guardrails.

+ Telemetry, funnels, and growth economics. Lead the measurement plan for adoption → activation → engagement → retention → paid conversion; instrument and review weekly with Marketing, Product, and Finance to course correct.

+ Experimentation & offers. Drive our view of price elasticity and evaluate cannibalization and halo effect of potential offers and new SKU introductions. Work with Product, Finance, Marketing, and other Business Planning orgs to ensure insights drive key decisions.

+ Exec communications & ROB. Drive a crisp RoB for monetization (MPR/QPR/BOD inputs), providing scenario docs, decision memos, and KPI scorecards that tie to plan commitments.

+ CMO Strategy. Help develop and refine strategic frameworks to evaluate and compare possible competitive paths for AI as part of the overall consumer strategy.
