CTG is seeking to fill an **Open Source Developer** opening for our premier client.
**Location** : Bakersfield (Hybrid)
**Duration** : 12 months
Required skills:
+ Proficiency in Python, especially for real-time and socket-based applications.
+ Experience with GStreamer or similar multimedia frameworks.
+ Understanding of SIP, RTP, and G.711 codec behavior.
+ Familiarity with WebSocket protocols and streaming architectures.
+ Strong Linux systems knowledge and basic networking skills.
+ Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).
+ Strong Python skills, particularly in real-time data processing and socket programming.
+ Familiarity with GStreamer, RTP, and G.711 codec handling is essential.
+ Must understand buffering, jitter, and latency management.
+ AI Integration: Experience with WebSocket communication and AI service interfacing (e.g., OpenAI) is beneficial.
Nice to have skills:
+ Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar observability frameworks.
+ Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
+ Prior work with AI/ML service integration (e.g., OpenAI APIs).
+ Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for media streaming and transport.
+ Familiarity with C/C++ for potential GStreamer core-level debugging or open-source contributions.
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
