Description
Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion under the direction of a licensed professional engineer. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to power plants, process facilities, and industrial facilities. Design electrical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers. Apply strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry. Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers. Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software. Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, and industrial, facilities. Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients. Comply with all policies and standards. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% is required based on project needs. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Multiple positions available.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus five (5) years of electrical engineering experience. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Electrical Engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus four (4) years of electrical engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of described experience.
Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following:
+ Standard engineering techniques and procedures.
+ Engineering design software including AutoCAD, ETAP, and SKM PTW.
+ Designing electrical installations in accordance with applicable codes and standards including the National Electric Code and IEEE standards.
+ Power system studies including Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit, and Load Flow studies.
+ Electrical distribution equipment specification up to 15kV.
+ Power system protection and protective device coordination up to 15kV.
Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% is required based on project needs.
