What we are looking for:
The QAQC Technician I performs routine analytical testing, supports facility-wide quality programs, and assists with daily laboratory operations. This role conducts chemical analyses on incoming and outgoing materials, documents results accurately, and provides research support as directed. The technician contributes to facility audits, equipment maintenance, external laboratory coordination, and continuous improvement efforts—while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment.
Requirements
What you will do:
- Perform routine analytical testing and provide testing support to plant and office personnel
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation/records of all analytical tests
- Prepare and report plant QC metrics, including weekly PLI and PPI data
- Maintain and update cross-check samples for all facilities on a monthly basis
- Provide QAQC support to assigned production facilities
- Assist with preparation for internal and external food safety audits
- Perform regular facility and production process audits
- Perform scheduled maintenance on laboratory equipment
- Coordinate laboratory sample waste disposal
- Maintain inventory of necessary lab supplies and consumables
- Use proper research methodologies to plan and execute research activities under lab direction
- Coordinate with external laboratories for analyses beyond internal capabilities
- Compile and analyze quality data; generate reports for internal teams and customers
- Train Operations personnel on QAQC equipment and procedures
- Communicate effectively with plant, Operations, Sales, and office personnel as needed
- Follow proper safety procedures for handling chemicals and hazardous substances
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
- Serve as a primary contact for laboratory testing and analytical results
- Demonstrate company values in all daily interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
What you will need:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific field
- At least 1 years related analytical laboratory experience, related research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Experience using standard lab instruments (analytical balances, pH meter, centrifuge, moisture balance, oven, etc.)
- Experience with common lab procedures (titrations, extractions, solid-phase extractions, dilutions, etc.)
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience working with chemicals and understanding their structure, reactivity, and safe handling
- Experience in fats, oils, proteins, or pesticide analysis is preferred
- Strong analytical, statistical, and troubleshooting skills are required
