As our Head of US Wholesale Distribution, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our business. We are looking for a visionary thought leader who is not only a trusted advisor and partner to the business but also someone who thrives in the spotlight.

     

    As an integral member of the Global Distribution team, reporting directly to the Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives across the organization.

     

    Collaborating closely with the Head of North America, AXIS Wholesale Business Unit leadership, and key strategic wholesale brokerage partners, you’ll be at the center of shaping and executing our commercial strategy. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the future direction of our global distribution efforts.

     

    What will you do in this role?

     

    + Drive Our Distribution Strategy: Partner with AXIS Wholesale business unit leaders to develop and execute a robust distribution strategy that accelerates growth and elevates our market position.

    + Lead with Vision: Act as a thought leader by providing strategic insights into market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.

    + Trusted Business Partner: Collaborate cross-functionally to drive growth and profitability, earning and maintaining the confidence of senior leadership. Support the "Go-To-Market" strategy across product segments to meet the evolving needs of the wholesale distribution channel.

    + Navigate Ambiguity: Thrive in uncertain environments, using a clear and confident voice to challenge and guide the business toward our broader ambitions.

    + Establish Market Leadership: Build and maintain a strong, recognized brand presence in the wholesale brokerage community. Cultivate an extensive network of senior broker leaders and executives, establishing yourself as a respected industry figure.

    + Inspire and Develop: Lead, manage, and grow a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous development.

    + Make Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and analytics to inform strategic decisions, monitor performance, and uncover opportunities for improvement.

    + Champion Commercial Innovation: Advance the commercial mindset of the organization, embracing change and promoting our evolving values and behaviors.

    + Elevate Business Development: Strengthen AXIS’s business development strategy, enhance market visibility, expand global reach, and pursue broader commercial opportunities aligned with the strategic vision of AXIS Insurance. Support key initiatives led by the CEO.

    + Drive Broker Engagement: Represent AXIS’s ambition and market position through proactive distribution efforts. Foster ownership, accountability, and high expectations across the division. Engage actively with brokerage leaders to promote AXIS’s diverse risk solutions platform.

    + You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

    About You:

    + Proven track record of success in a senior distribution role within the specialty wholesale insurance industry.

    + Extensive experience and knowledge of the US Specialty and E&S Marketplace, including Property, Casualty and Executive Lines.

    + Execution focused with demonstrable ability to drive change and challenge the status quo.

    + Skilled in influencing and aligning diverse stakeholders across the organization to achieve strategic goals.

    + Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate opportunities and insights into actionable plans.

    + Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, with an extensive network in the wholesale market.

    + Data and analytics-driven mindset, with the ability to leverage insights to drive business performance.

    + Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing and developing a high-performing team, and possesses exceptional interpersonal skills to foster and cultivate young talent and high-potential individuals.

    + Highly commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the insurance market landscape.

    Role Factors:

    + You will be based in New York, Atlanta, Chicago and typically required to travel 40% to AXIS underwriting and key strategic wholesale broker offices in the U.S. to support key businesses reporting into North America

    + Be in the office a minimum 3 days per week

    What we offer:

    _For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $285,000.00 to $305,000.00. Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location._

     

    _In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance. On top of this, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and much more. _

     

    _Where this role is based in the United States of America, this role is Exempt for FLSA purposes._
