JOB SPECIFICS
The Economic Support Supervisor provides administration and program supervision, interpretation and assessment of policies, supervision of assigned staff, management of program budgets and government funds to ensure program compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
+ Paid work experience in a supervisory or lead position, working in state and federal public assistance programs
+ Demonstrated understanding of current systems and eligibility policies
+ Strong experience managing performance measurements and standards
+ Ability to monitor timelines and accuracy and strategic workload management
+ Collecting and utilizing data to drive performance as well as track trends and outcomes
+ Experience providing customer service and de-escalation, strong communication skills, critical thinking and utilizing problem solving skills
SELECTION TECHNIQUE : Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
HOURS / DAYS : 40 hours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Work hours will include some evenings and possibly weekend hours, as needed. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.
ANTICIPATED HIRING RATE : $87,276.80 - $119,246.40 Annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and five years of full-time experience in child support, public assistance eligibility work or employment services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Supervisor of the Child Support Unit:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the area of assignment.
Supervise staff:
• Interview and make staff recommendations;
• Create and manage work schedules;
• Provide work direction and review work for accuracy;
• Develop and facilitate staff training;
• Guide staff through changes in laws, processes, services or programs;
• Respond to grievances or special issues; and
• Conduct performance reviews.
Administer assigned programs:
• Recommend, develop and administer programs and program policies;
• Set program standards and implement procedures;
• Monitor and evaluates assigned programs;
• Prepare and administer budgets for services;
• Review service trends to project expenses;
• Authorize service expenditures;
• Develop plans for specialized program grants;
• Interpret state and federal rules and regulations;
• Compile and monitor preparation of statistical and narrative program reports;
• Assist in development and implementation of client data processes;
• Participate in agency management policy and program development, program proposal evaluation and other management team activities;
• Develop, coordinate and monitor service agreements and contracts;
• Collaborate, facilitate and respond to state and federal audits, including development and management of corrective action plans;
• Increase public awareness of needs, programs and resources;
• May help write press releases;
• Communicate policies and objectives of assigned area programs to stakeholders:
• Coordinate, lead or participate on various task forces, committees, networks, and multi-disciplinary teams at the state and local level;
• Provide information and education on service programs to stakeholders needing program expertise in policy setting;
• Investigate and resolve concerns or complaints;
• Respond to public requests for information or assistance;
• Act as a liaison to coordinate case management or resolve complex cases; and
• Participate in state-wide organizations to develop new procedures and influence public policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is sedentary in nature performed within the Government Center or satellite offices. Lifting requirement of 15 - 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Wrist and finger manipulation due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to, computer, calculator, copy/fax machine and dictaphone. Occasional work in the evenings or on Saturdays may be required. Additional physical/mental requirements that occur may not be listed above, but are inherent in performing the position's essential functions.
