Position Overview:
As HR Generalist, you will lead the Human Resources department in alignment with federal, state, and local standards and under the direction of the Administrator. Your work will ensure the recruitment, retention, and support of quality staff to meet the facility’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Plan, develop, and oversee HR functions, processes, and programs
+ Manage recruitment: review personnel requests, screen applications, arrange interviews, and check references
+ Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files
+ Ensure compliance with all hiring, orientation, and discharge procedures
+ Conduct background checks and onboard new employees, explaining policies, procedures, payroll, and safety guidelines
+ Counsel and discipline staff as needed
+ Foster positive employee relations and maintain open communication channels
+ Process and oversee payroll administration
+ Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with appropriate parties
+ Collaborate with department heads to support HR initiatives across the facility
Requirements:
+ Prior HR experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting
+ Experience with payroll systems and processing
+ Understanding of healthcare worker regulations and compliance
+ Union experience is a plus
+ Commitment to developing and evolving the role to meet the needs of our team and residents
