    Overview and Responsibilities

    The Production Finance Financial Analyst supports the studios Production Finance leadership by providing financial oversight, reporting, compliance support, and cross-department coordination throughout all phases of a film production. This role is heavily involved in the cost analysis for each production, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting, audit support, and system-driven financial controls, while serving as a key liaison between Production, Accounting, and Studio Executives.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Financial Reporting & Analysis

     

    Prepare a weekly cost analysis for active productions.

     

    Compile and analyze month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports for active and wrapped productions.

     

    Support production of wrap financial reports, post-60 reports, and local community expenditure reporting.

     

    Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis requests related to productions, departments, or executive review.

     

    Compliance, Controls & Audit Support

     

    Assist with production finance audits and provide supporting documentation.

     

    Support SOX compliance, including maintaining and reviewing month-end, quarter-end and year-end user access reports.

     

    Coordinate and validate digital filing audits to ensure audit and tax incentive readiness.

     

    Ensure productions comply with the Production Finance Manual and studio policies.

     

    Systems & Process Oversight

     

    Oversee and support production onboarding into studio systems (SAP, Graphite, payroll platforms such as Cast & Crew and Entertainment Partners).

     

    Review vendor onboarding workflows and payment methods (invoice vs. payroll).

     

    Provide guidance on legal bill coding, rental car coding, and expense classification to Corporate Accounting.

     

    Support troubleshooting of system access issues across Accounting and Production teams.

     

    Cross-Functional Coordination

     

    Partner with Physical Production, Post Production, and Corporate teams to ensure financial consistency.

     

    Coordinate with GRM, and Accounting on document management, approvals, and compliance needs.

     

    Support VP-level scheduling and executive deliverables.

    Basic Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

     

    23+ years of experience in Production Accounting or Studio Production Finance.

    Additional Qualifications

    Strong working knowledge of SAP, Cast & Crew, Entertainment Partners, Cashet, DPO, and studio financial controls.

     

    Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

     

    Familiarity with production audits, tax incentive requirements, and SOX compliance.

     

    Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 72,500.00.

     

    The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
