    The State Correctional Institute in Forest County is looking for a Building Trade/Construction Occupation Trades Teacher focusing on Building Trades and Masonry. If you have the background required and are interested in making a difference, apply today!

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Building Trade/Construction Occupation Trades Teacher for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for the instruction and training of inmate students in the vocational area of Building Trades, Mansonry, and other closely related job skills. Instruction will include both theory and hands-on instruction.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,881.00 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Education equivalent to high school graduation and two years wage earning experience beyond the completed apprenticeship period in the s pecifie d parenthetical; or

    + If there is no approved apprenticeship period for the specified parenthetical, education equivalent to high school graduation and three years of wage earning experience in the specified parenthetical.

    + Please Note:The specified parenthetical for this posting is Masonry. The specific apprenticeship period for this parenthetical is 2 years.

    Special Requirements:

    + You must be in possession of or eligible for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Certificate I or II for the specified parenthetical (Masonry);or

    + You must be in possession of or eligible for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Intern Certificate for the specified parenthetical (Masonry);or

    + You must be eligible for a Pennsylvania Department of Education Emergency Certificate for the specified parenthetical (Masonry).

    Other Requirements:

    + Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
