    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    The SERS Chief Counsel's Office is in search of a legal assistant to provide essential administrative support to our legal team. This position assists attorneys in reviewing and processing sensitive information, reviewing and preparing various documents and communication, and managing legal files to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Your strong communication skills, attention-to-detail, and ability to multitask will help our attorneys stay focused on providing exceptional legal service.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.

    + A work schedule beginning and ending between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., inclusive, with a half-hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements. The requested work schedule may not end prior to 4:00 p.m.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home part-time (hybrid telework schedule), depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.     REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
