THE POSITION

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who will provide the Division with clerical support in the examination and data entry of documents while determining that customers have current and proper insurance documents to operate their motor vehicle. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will be r esponsible for the examination and data entry of financial responsibility information. Determines the proper issuance of a suspension, rescinding records, reinstatements, restorations, citations, renewals and processes complied records of a motorist’s vehicle registration. You will determine the denial or issuance of registration plate and cards and e valuates content to select proper processing or error response codes. Additional responsibilities include opening, tracking and processing certified mail received in the Financial Responsibility Section, and for completing phone verifications to insurance agents and Departments to obtain information regarding the customers financial responsibility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 ( Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration ) ; or
+ Graduation from high school;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
