    The Arc Oneida-Lewis, a pioneer in championing individuals with disabilities, is seeking a dedicated Awake Overnight Supervisor to support our residential programs during overnight hours. This role is ideal for an experienced Direct Support Professional who enjoys mentoring others, ensuring quality supports, and keeping people safe while the rest of the world sleeps.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    Under the direction of the Associate Director of Residential Services, the Awake Overnight Supervisor ensures Direct Support Professionals working awake overnight shifts are properly trained, supported, and working in accordance with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and site-specific expectations. This position provides leadership, oversight, and hands-on support across residential locations as needed.

     

    Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to person-centered care are essential for success in this role.

    Responsibilities:

    + Train and support Direct Support Professionals assigned to awake overnight shifts, including site routines, responsibilities, and required documentation

    + Conduct unannounced overnight site visits to ensure required tasks are completed accurately and consistently

    + Review overnight logs and documentation for quality and accuracy; follow up on discrepancies and report concerns to supervisory staff

    + Provide immediate coaching, feedback, and redirection to staff as needed, documenting discussions appropriately

    + Provide overnight coverage when necessary due to staffing emergencies

    + Report staff concerns, safety issues, maintenance needs, and incidents involving people we support to the Program Coordinator or Assistant Director by the next business day

    + Assist with overnight and early first-shift fire drills in accordance with regulatory requirements

    + Provide or coordinate transportation for people we support for medical needs as required

    + Ensure proper notification and response to emergencies by following agency on-call procedures

    + Support people we support in accordance with individual treatment plans, ensuring safety, dignity, and respect

    + Administer medications as required and complete all related documentation

    + Uphold and advocate for the rights, privacy, and confidentiality of people we support

    + Serve as a role model and leader for overnight staff, promoting professionalism and best practices

    + Provide input regarding staff performance for the employee appraisal process

    + Attend required meetings, trainings, and committees as assigned

    + Adhere to scheduled hours and submit accurate timesheets in accordance with payroll deadlines

    Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or GED required

    + Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Direct Support Professional, Residence Manager, or equivalent

    + Valid New York State Driver's License with approved driving status

    + Ability to work overnight (3rd shift) and travel between residential sites as needed

    + Strong interpersonal, communication, and training skills

    + Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger team

    + Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and agency learning systems

    Must obtain and maintain:

    + OPWDD Medication Certification

    + CPR / First Aid

    + SCIP-R / PROMOTE

    + All OPWDD mandatory trainings
