The Senior Manager, US Professional Medical Education – OTTAVA is responsible for the planning, delivery, and metrics associated with the US customer learning experience for OTTAVA, J&J’s surgical robotic system. They will ensure seamless integration of curriculum and learning technologies as well as proactively monitor the effectiveness of the training program. Additionally, the Professional Education team is responsible for training and supporting numerous OTTAVA clinical trial sites. The Senior Manager (US) will partner closely with R&D, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, Global Strategic Marketing, Commercial Education, Commercial leadership, and External Partners to ensure the overall learning experience meets key learning objectives for our clinical customers.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
**POLICIES:** Know and follow policies and procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility
**TRAINING:** Complete training in area of responsibility within allowed time-period. Training is required for changes in existing policies and procedures, for new assignments and for implementation of new policies and procedures. Complete required periodic re-training in areas such as safety and environmental compliance.
**SAFETY:** Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within work area. Promote safety to all associates that enter work area. Follow Health Care Compliance guidelines as well as follow operating room training and safety standards (Bloodborne pathogens training, etc...).
FUNCTIONAL:
• Lead a team of US Professional Education Managers in the flawless delivery of customer training protocols and support assets.
• Lead the development and execution of customer training events in support of platform development milestones.
• Train and support surgical teams at OTTAVA clinical trial sites, as needed.
• Collaborate with professional education teammates as well as internal/external stakeholders to deliver a fully integrated customer learning experience that is validated to deliver on learning objectives.
• Collaborate with commercial education team on learning strategies to ensure synchronization of customer & internal training development & implementation.
• Capture customer insights and ongoing VoC to define requirements for education program and implement a process of continuous improvement.
• Develop and report to senior management an extensive set of metrics tracking education program efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring we can meet safety and business objectives.
• Identify and develop local, regional and national faculty and lead curriculum development working groups.
• Enable strong collaboration with multiple internal and external partners.
**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE** :
• Minimum of 8 years in progressive Healthcare Commercial roles (e.g., Sales, Sales Training, Prof Ed, Marketing and/or Sales Management) with documented history of success.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in related platforms and procedures (Robotics, Endocutters, Energy, Colorectal, Thoracic, Bariatric, Gynecology and Urology). Mastery of anatomical, specialty and product knowledge.
• Operating room experience.
• Project management experience
• High technological and business aptitude
• Strong influence management and communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage internal and external networks
Preferred:
• Previous experience working in surgical robotics
• Previous experience as a people manager, or leadership development roles
• Previous experience leading complex learning and development programs
• Previous experience working in Marketing
• Previous experience in Medical Device Education (external or internal stakeholder training)
• MBA or other Post-Graduate Degree
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into Med Tech Education solutions (Professional, Commercial and Marketing Education) that support the company’s business goals
• Ability to collaborate and influence internal partners without direct reporting responsibilities across a matrix organization
• Leadership/influence management and persuasive skills
• Proven ability to develop long-term strategy and successful execution
• Excellent communication, analytical, conflict management, complex project management, people management and development skills.
POST HIRE TRAINING PLAN REQUIREMENTS:
• Training plan requirements as identified in Corporate Training Procedure, CP0128
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using phone and computer
• May lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally
**WORK ENVIRONMENT:** Office, laboratory and surgical facilities
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** May provide direction of activities to others
**LOCATION** : Field based (US only)
**TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS** : Domestic and global overnight travel may be required up to 60%

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
Salary Range $137,000 - $235,750 / $157,000 - $271,400 Bay Area Only
