    *This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic Liberty Station with travel to neighboring sites for dermatology division needs. *

    *What you'll do:*

    * Home base will be at Mission Valley but will float to other sites regularly

    * Rooming patients

    * Checking vitals

    * Assisting with procedures

    * Scribing

    * Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols

    * Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis

    * Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment

    * Organizes and performs patient care services that support the provider's practice

    * Relaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized person

    * Collecting patient data in person and by phone

    * Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review

    * Administering medications specifically directed by the provider

    * Scheduling of appointments and procedures

    * Complete and accurate message taking

    * Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction

    * Order and referral entry

    * Acquisition of pre-certifications

    * Setting up of cases in EPIC

    * Basic registration and updating of demographics

    * Other duties assigned as needed

    *Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:*

    * Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

    *Required Certification/Registration:*

    * BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

    *Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:*

    * One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting preferred.
