    Position Title:

    Middle School Building Based Substitute Teacher

    Anticipated Employment Date:

    ASAP - June 25, 2026

    Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

    Veronica E. Connor Middle School 7:25 AM to 2:25 PM

    Salary:

    $200.00 per day - 4 days per week

    Duties:

    - Provide daily classroom coverage for absent teachers across grade levels and subject areas within the building.

     

    - Maintain established classroom routines, ensure a safe learning environment, and support positive student behavior.

     

    - Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support instructional goals and student learning.

     

    - Assist with supervision duties and other school-wide responsibilities as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    - Must hold a valid New York State Teaching Certificate/meet NYSED requirements for substitute teaching

     

    - Bachelor's degree required; degree in Education or related field preferred.

     

    - Prior experience working with middle/secondary school students in an educational setting is strongly preferred.

     

    - Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills to effectively support instruction and maintain a positive learning environment.

    - Ability to quickly adapt to different classrooms, grade levels, and subject areas while maintaining continuity of instruction.

     

    - Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
