Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our Food and Nutrition Services team!

The Dietary Cook prepares hot food items and other specified menu items in accordance with established standards for quality, presentation, and temperature. The Dietary Cook also assists in the assembly of patient meals and Home Delivered Meals and prepares food for the cafeteria and coffee shop as well as catered events. Cleaning duties are completed as assigned.

HOURS: Part Time or .7 FTE, 56 hours every pay period. Various shifts: 9:00 AM-5:30PM; 10:30 AM-7:00 PM; 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Experience/Qualifications

+ High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

+ Knowledge of food preparation is demonstrated by a minimum of six months’ full-time work experience as a cook in an institutional setting (e.g. hospital, nursing home, school); or a minimum of one-year full-time work experience as a cook in a restaurant setting.

+ Able to make arithmetic computations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

+ Basic reading skills; able to read and comprehend menus and recipes, departmental policies and forms.

+ Basic computer operations skills (keyboard and mouse use, Internet browser use, opening and closing programs).

+ Able to process e-mail (read, send, delete, file).

+ Able to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

+ Able to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
