Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium, MI is seeking a SPEECH THERAPIST to join our OP SPEECH THER - LARIUM team!

The Speech Therapist provides diagnosis and treatment for patients of all ages with communicative, cognitive and dysphagia disorders.

HOURS: Full Time; 0.75 FTE or 60 hours per pay period. Day Shift.

Experience/Qualifications

+ Knowledge of speech therapy standards and practices normally acquired through a minimum completion of a Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.

+ A minor in psychology, special education, learning disabilities and/or general science beneficial.

+ Previous work experience in a clinical or hospital setting with a caseload predominantly of adult neurologically impaired patients.

+ Two to five years’ experience in an acute care hospital beneficial.

+ State of Wisconsin or Michigan Speech-Language Pathology license (Business Unit Specific) .

+ Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. + Accreditation in area of specialty beneficial.

+ Cognitive requirements including a high level of problem solving, reasoning and organization skills, along with excellent reception and expressive skills necessary
