Job Description
Our customer's Video Network (VN) Cloud Managed Service supports the migration of media organizations from hardware‑based broadcast systems to cloud‑native video workflows. We are seeking an SRE with strong video streaming experience and deep AWS expertise to support, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud‑based linear and VOD workflows.
This role is heavily operational and customer‑focused — ensuring high‑quality video delivery across clients (mobile, browser, set‑top boxes) while also contributing to infrastructure improvements, new service turn‑ups, and platform reliability.
Video Workflow Support & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve issues across video flows for Linear and VOD workflows.
Troubleshoot playback and delivery issues across all client types (Android, iOS, web browsers, set‑top boxes, etc.).
Support issues involving SRT, transcoding workflows, and managed video platform components.
Reproduce complex customer issues in a lab environment for root-cause analysis.
Cloud Infrastructure & Operations (AWS‑Focused)
Operate and optimize video workloads running on AWS (primary cloud requirement).
Contribute to spinning up new services, VMs, and infrastructure components as needs arise.
Implement autoscaling, reliability, and performance improvements for streaming pipelines.
Handle incident, problem, and change management for the cloud platform.
Automation, Monitoring & Operational Excellence
Build automation and tooling to reduce repetitive tasks.
Maintain and enhance monitoring/observability around video and cloud systems.
Use and extend dashboards for performance, uptime, and cost visibility.
Customer & Cross‑Team Collaboration
Support customer onboarding and configuration for VN Cloud workflows.
Provide technical guidance to partners and customers.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Sales to improve overall service quality.
Compensation:
$50/hr to $60/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements
SRE/DevOps experience supporting cloud‑based video systems (streaming services, IPTV, VOD platforms, or similar).
Strong AWS expertise — daily operation + deep understanding of cloud primitives.
Experience with Linear and VOD video delivery.
SRT protocol knowledge.
Hands-on experience with transcoding workflows.
Ability to troubleshoot video issues from a managed platform perspective.
Experience with digital video technologies (MPEG, ABR, DASH, HLS, Cloud DVR).
Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Linux systems experience (installation, debugging, tuning).
Monitoring and observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
Strong scripting ability (Python required; Bash/Go a plus).
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP; CCNA-level knowledge helpful).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. Datadog experience (monitoring, dashboards, alerting).
Experience with Coretechs or VDCMS (video‑related platforms).
Virtualization experience (KVM, OpenStack, VMware).
Cloud certifications (AWS preferred).
